Handmade boxes, built to a brief

These are not a bigger version of the standard box. They are built from the ground up for one occasion, which is why they take seven days and cost what they cost.

The three shapes

Red heart-shaped gift box with chocolate-covered strawberries and fresh roses above

From the Heart

$180

A heart-shaped box, the outline cut clean, berries following the curve. Fresh roses above, golden glaze and sprinkles on the berries — the one that says it without a word.

Seven days notice, 50% deposit.

Pink two-tier gift box: fresh roses above, chocolate-covered strawberries in paper cups below

The Showstopper

$210

Two tiers: fresh roses rising from the section behind, berries in paper cups in the folding lid below. The box that fills the middle of a table.

Seven days notice, 50% deposit.

Pale pink gift box with compartments shaped as the letters I, a heart and U, filled with strawberries and blueberries

The Love Letter

$300

Three compartments shaped as the letters I ♥ U — white-chocolate strawberries, pink sugar flowers and blueberries set in rows. The one that gets photographed.

Seven days notice, 50% deposit.

Prices are for the box as described. A brief that changes the construction changes the figure, and I tell you the figure before you pay anything.

How a brief works

  1. You tell me the occasion and the date. Not the shape: the shape follows from the occasion.
  2. I come back with one proposal and the figure. If it is not right, we change it once and that is included.
  3. Half up front. The rest when it is ready to go out.
  4. Seven days. The box is built, then the berries are dipped on the morning of delivery.
  5. You get the photo before it leaves, same as every order.

Send me a brief

What I will not do

  • Copy someone else’s box from a photograph. Bring the idea, not the picture.
  • Promise a shape I have not built. If it is new to me, I say so.
  • Take a seven-day box on three days’ notice. It would be the same box, made worse.

If you need something tomorrow, the standard sizes are the honest answer: twelve, twenty-four or thirty-six berries.
